Monster of the Abyss begins with Sleepy Joe, a seemingly harmless doll who discovers that the childhood fear of something hiding beneath the bed is very real. Pulled into the Abyss, Joe falls into the hands of the mysterious Gloom King, who twists and corrupts him into something far more dangerous.

From there, the series breaks away from a single world and genre. New characters and settings take centre stage as the story shifts through the many worlds . Heroes fall, villains win, and corruption can turn even the most innocent creatures into something unrecognizable.
